We were so excited on Monday 21st February to welcome more children to our Axminster Hospital kitchens to a cooking class with River Cottage Executive Head Chef Gelf Alderson, ably assisted by volunteers from NHS Property Services. The children cooked delicious pancakes, so that come Pancake Day on 1st March, they will know exactly what to do!
We are very grateful to all the children who came to these sessions (and their parents for bringing them) and to Devon Community Foundation for providing the funding.
Classes like these help to increase self esteem and resilience in the children, as well as providing them with essential food skills for life.
